Instagram Reels for the Sahel Region

How do you explain resilience, climate change and international cooperation in less than 60 seconds?

For GOPA PACE, an international development consultancy, Berlin Videographers developed and produced five Instagram Reels as part of a project by GIZ, Germany’s federal enterprise for international cooperation. The focus: how communities in the Sahel region can become more resilient to droughts, floods and other crises – and the role cooperation with Germany can play.

Instead of a traditional explainer format, the Reels feature a local host, direct storytelling and voices from the region. Because lasting change happens together with local communities – and their stories should be told from a local perspective.

The videos were developed specifically for Instagram, using short scripts, concrete examples and a visual language designed for social media. Berlin Videographers provided editorial consulting, concept development and social media video production.

The result: five short videos about water, agriculture, education, jobs and resilience – told from a clear local perspective.
